Taconic Chamber Players (violinists Joana Genova and Heather Braun, violists Rosemary Nelis and Ariel Rudiakov and cellist Nathaniel Parke, cello) and special guests from Venezuela (Carolina Ellenbogen), Sweden (Christina Yuengling) and Switzerland (Carol Berry).
Music from each country—arrangements of traditional melodies or pieces by classical composers—will be paired with a poem.
The concert will feature two special guests: the Scandinavian-American chorus Nordic Harmoni, based in Southern Vermont and the young composer Kian Ravaei who is currently pursuing his doctoral degree at the Juillard School. Born to Iranian immigrants, Ravaei’s works combine the ornamented melodies of Iranian classical music with the colorful harmonies of Western classical music.
Free admission.
